February 21st Melo, Billups, and Stoudemire battle the Big 3 Bosh, Wade, James.
A win will change the outlook on the New York Knicks. Ticket prices are high to see the 6 superstars on the same floor together.
Billups, a veteran in the PG position to manage the New York Knicks in the place of Raymond Felton. Billups is older than Felton so the Knicks need players like Tony Douglas to step up because Billups will not be out on the floor as much as Felton.
The heat need Mike Miller to get better with his recent head injury. The heat have new recent news and the Knicks no what is heading there way.
All New Players Supposed to Play Against Bucks
News is coming in that Carmelo Anthony flew into New York today and has had his physical. All of the other players involved in the trade will reportedly arrive sometime tomorrow morning and have their physicals at that time too. The Knicks have also scheduled an extra early shoot-around before the game and a 5:00 pm news conference introducing our new players. This is great news especially because every game we play together will put us one step closer to being an elite team. Without chemistry a team cannot produce.
I think it does both in the long-term and short-term. Lets talk about the short-term first:
We are getting that second scorer needed to compliment Amar’e. He’s one guy he cant do it all by himself. Not only are we gaining one of the best scorers in the league though, but we are getting Mr. Big Shot (Chauncey Billups) who comes up big when it counts. In other words, those scoring issues we had during our two losing streaks this season wont be happening again.
We gain experience too. Billups has won a championship and Anthony has been to the conference finals. Who did we trade away again? Three east coast losers who have basically had their biggest years playing on these Knicks. For a starting line up that includes one rookie it’s always good to have extra playoff experience.
This will surprise you. Bench defense. That’s right, I said it. We might have a top 5 defensive bench on our hands. Corey Brewer is known for his hustle defense and is almost averaging 2 steals a game in 24 minutes of playing time. Renaldo Balkman is also known as a high energy defensive player averaging about a steal in 15 minutes in his career. And then we have our own Toney Douglas, we have already seen his amazing ability to get in the passing lane and force turnovers.
